Sophie Bennett
Sophia Bennett was born in 1966 and moved around the world as an Army child, before settling in Wandsworth. Having been turned down to read English by three universities, she studied French and Italian for seven years at London and Cambridge and did a variety of jobs, ranging from packaging earrings to being a much-travelled management consultant with McKinsey and Co. Both were equally useful for her current role. Every few years, Sophia took time out to write novels. Eventually it worked, when her first book for children, Threads, won the Times/Chicken House Children's Fiction Competition 2009. When not writing books or articles or her blog (or googling), Sophia looks after her husband, two sons and two stepdaughters. Actually, they look after her.
